About ESP Properties

ESP Properties is a commercial and creative advisor for sports and entertainment rightsholders. We are a WPP company ( dedicated to helping rightsholders take advantage of digital and data driven changes in the media and marketing landscape. We work with teams, leagues, federations, events, cultural institutions and non-profits to help them build stronger relationships with their customers and grow their commercial value from sponsorship, media and fans. Our range of services include consulting, sales representation and investment. We aim to put the same level of analytics, rigor and real life experience into our clients’ commercial offers as they put into other parts of their business.


We have grown quickly since our launch in May 2015 and are currently working with some of the most prestigious rightsholders around the world. We have a full time team of 100+ people based in Chicago, NY, LA, London, Singapore, Mumbai and Sao Paulo.


We are now looking for an Intern to support our growing business. The successful candidate will work closely with our consulting team while sitting in Chicago.

Position Description

ESP Properties is looking for multiple interns to join its consulting team for Winter 2018. Interns will be responsible for updating and maintaining ESP’s sponsorship intelligence database, and using the data collected to develop key insights for internal and external teams. In addition, Interns will be incorporated into client teams, where they will assist with various research projects.



  • “Own” at least one property sector; analyze data and present findings to internal team members
  • Maintain ESP’s sponsorship intelligence database, including but not limited to data entry, fact-checking and data quality checks
  • Conduct research to support IEG’s Sponsorship Report
  • Assist ESP Sales and Business Solutions departments with secondary research when applicable
  • Support ESP Consulting Group client teams by:
    • Creating competitive intelligence reports/conducting primary and secondary research when applicable
    • Shadowing client teams on client calls and internal meetings when applicable
    • Participate in brainstorm and strategy sessions, when applicable



  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sports Management, Marketing/Communications, Business or another related field.
  • Good academic standing
  • Interest in pursuing sports marketing as a future career
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Secondary research skills, and the ability to utilize both external and internal resources
  • Ability to analyze data and present results in compelling format
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Great attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
