Job Title:
Marketing Research Recruiter Intern
Paid Position
Opportunity Type:

Marketing Research Recruiter

A growing medical market research company has a need for an intern to work on a variety of market research related projects. We specialize in hosting focus groups, surveys, and other market research projects.

Our clients are typically pharmaceutical/biotech companies and medical device companies. We are hired to find medical professionals to participate in market research, whether via surveys or at our focus group facility in downtown Chicago. Our clients then interview these respondents to gather their thoughts and opinions about new product launches, advertising campaigns, brand positioning and other related marketing topics.

The intern would be active in several key company roles and would rotate through various company departments throughout the internship:

1. Within our marketing recruiting department, interns would work with project teams that contact physicians and other medical staff to participate in paid focus groups and surveys at our facility. You would be the main liaison with medical offices, updating client reports, and organizing survey and contact data. Similar to a sales position, you would work to establish consulting agreements with medical professionals.

2. Within our survey department, interns would also learn how to program market research surveys and organize data into client reports. You will learn the ins and outs of survey design and data analysis.

3. Within our database management department, interns would also work to update our databases of respondents. In this role, you would be using Microsoft Access to run special queries, link reports to other information systems, run programs to clean/update/delete records and support project recruiting teams by running special data for the projects.

4. Within our sales/marketing department, interns would assist with preparing proposals and other sales activities.

The ideal candidate will be an outgoing, persuasive person who enjoys talking to people and is success oriented. Experience with MS Office software, particularly Excel, is required. We will provide training on all other aspects of the job.

This job will provide you with sales/recruiting experience, a market research background, database management skills and insight into the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry.

The work schedule during the school year would be approximately 17-22 hours/week and up to full time during the summer
